Seeking Clarity, Finding Purpose

I have spoken to many women through my webinars and events. Any problem they face is mostly related to lack of clarity. We want to make the right decisions, we want to be self-assured, we want to move on with life positively, we want to have healthy relationships and bonds, we want to achieve big dreams and goals in life. The bottom line is always the same, the bottom line is; you can’t achieve anything without clarity. And that clarity has to specifically be on the purpose of your life.

Mention ‘purpose of life’ and everyone gets lost in their thoughts, gob smacked, unable to draw the connection between their current goal and the purpose of life. As the discussion progresses they realise that it is in fact the purpose of life, that gives us not just clarity, but the courage to pursue anything we want with confidence and hope.

We have started to live superficially, wherein we create these goals and targets for ourselves and think the only thing to do now is to draft a plan and achieve. While that’s one way of progressing, it’s always going to end in some level of confusion and dissatisfaction. Confusion of why the dissatisfaction exists after achieving or progressing in achieving the goals set. Let me simplify this, the thought of ‘What’s the point of all this hard work?’ or ‘How does me achieving this goal really impact the world?’ These thoughts come up with the goals actually aren’t in congruence with your purpose. And believe me, most of us don’t know and haven’t even had the thought of discovering our innate purpose in this world (And the hereafter if you believe in it).

So how does one find their purpose? By giving yourself the gift of time, space and thought. Ask yourself the question of your purpose, without judging yourself. Discover and read books that speak about this, some of my recent favorite’s have been; ‘Think like a monk’ by Jay Shetty, Ikigai , Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E Frankl, Yes to life in spite of everything by Viktor E Frankl, The Art of Living by Bob Proctor. One of the most pleasurable things life can give you, is the space and time you take to focus on you. And this is not in a selfish sense, it’s in society’s benefit for you to know who you are and what your purpose is. The world doesn’t need sheep in the herd, the world needs people who are focused because they know where they add value and live each day with passion and purpose.
